Petroselinum crispum

The prettiest parsley. Crisp curled leaves with fringed edges. Contributes welcome texture to brothy winter soups. Very hardy. Holds up to snow better than any flat leaf parsley. Garnish of choice among the tablecloth restaurants of my Midwestern youth. Wonderfully nostalgic.

Sow seeds into flats in late winter. Germinates erratically but reliably at cool temperatures. Seedlings can be transplanted into the garden several weeks before the last spring frost. Sturdy plants are strongly upright but compact. Valuable as a textural component in edible landscaping.

These imported seeds produce plants with more fragrance and flavor than some common American selections. Very worthwhile as a culinary herb!
