Heavily ribbed and bumpy little Japanese pumpkins. Ripens from nearly black to dark buff with an interesting white bloom. Flesh is very fine with a sweet and almost fruity flavor. Delicious raw or roasted. Edible thin skin. Not a keeper. Very productive. Suitable for coolish climates. Becoming a fairly common sight at market but very easy to grow in the garden.
