FRENCH BREAKFAST RADISH

Raphanus sativus

The classic radish for petit dejeuner, these pretty little roots are ready to harvest in just three to four weeks. Sow seeds as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring, spacing seeds around 1' apart. These radishes are very nearly fool-proof, but do harvest promptly as they can sometimes become quite woody if left in the ground for longer than they’d like.

French Breakfast radishes may be sown weekly throughout the growing season. In the heat of summer they will prefer to grow in the dappled shade of other garden plants. An excellent companion for Arugula and Salad Bowl Lettuce in spring, and for Little Finger Carrots and Guildenstern Lettuce in summer.
