Guildenstern Lettuce
Guildenstern Lettuce
GUILDENSTERN LETTUCE SEED
Lactuca sativa
ORGANIC
Bred by Frank Morton, Guildenstern is a heading iceberg-like lettuce producing small, golden-green heads that are seemingly indestructable, withstanding heat and resisting disease with aplomb. Perfect for small gardens and beginning gardeners, Guildenstern requires little more than consistent moisture.
Sow seed indoors around four weeks before transplanting: in a 72 cell flat, press seeds into moist soil and barely cover with additional soil or fine vermiculite, mist; cover tray with plastic to maintain moisture; kept moist in bright light at 60°F, seeds will germinate within a week. Thin seedlings to one per cell. Keep cool and moist and transplant before seedlings become rootbound. Can be grown all season, even through the summer in the dappled shade of other garden occupants.
Packet contains at least 300 seeds.
