The color of Magenta Magic Orach is a gorgeous, saturated, deep purple-pink. Sown outdoors in early spring, the first leaves are succulent, with an almost crystalline shimmering surface. Allowed to mature, plants will grow to 4', but big irridescent leaves stay saturated with color and are a good spinach substitute.

The value of Magenta Magic as an ornamental cannot be overstated. Consider transplanting several seedlings to the flower garden or insectary border. Bolting plants are very attractive. Color remains strong all season. Remove seedpods once they've turned brown to save seeds.
