This superb mâche is tolerant of most growing conditions and can be sown all year in mild climates. Where summers are hot, this little plant is best sown throughout autumn and in very early spring. One of the hardiest of all salad greens, it will stand through most winters and can be harvested from beneath snowcover.

Sow mâche seeds directly into the garden. Kept moist, little rosettes of spoon-shaped leaves are ready to harvest in about a month. Allowed to self-sow, mâche is seemingly perennial in most gardens. An excellent candidate for small permacultural landscapes.

Sow sparingly and thin plants to 3" apart for the most picturesque rosettes.
