OAXACAN GREEN CORN

Zea mays

Cultivated for centuries in Mexico, this heirloom dent corn is drought resistant and early to mature. Young ears may be used for sweet corn and are excellent grilled. Mature 10" ears have stunning emerald green kernels. One of the easiest and most versatile varieties of corn for the garden.

Tall field corn is an excellent alternative to teepees and trellises for training pole beans. Rows of Oaxacan Green corn and Trail of Tears pole beans will make for lots of yummy tamales and black bean soup during the winter.

Fantastically ornamental and decorative. Suitable for making traditional masa.
