ORGANIC
Nutritious and delicious little weed. Naturalized throughout the world and foraged extensively, especially in early spring. Worth cultivating where it won't become a nuisance. Rich in vitamins and minerals and really very tasty in salads and sandwiches and tossed into brothy soups. Perennial or annual. Either way it will self-sow reliably. Perfect for permaculture.
Long valued by herbalists for both internal and external application. Cooling, soothing, and mildly diuretic. Traditionally used to treat rheumatism in China. Similar to Marshmallow in many ways, and frequently paired with that herb in historic preparations.
Sow outdoors in late winter or early spring. Plants prefer some shade, and the leaves of other garden companions are usually sufficient. Flowering plants nourish a wide variety of pollinating insects when little else is available.
Avoid sowing where you may not want it in the future. Very tenacious and difficult to eradicate. Frequent harvests are the best means by which to limit its spread. As with dandelion, the ubiquity of this species is a tragically unappreciated gift from nature.
Packet contains around 1000 seeds.
