BUENA MULATA PEPPER SEEDS
Capsicum annuum
Gifted to the grandfather of historian William Woys Weaver by artist Horace Pippin. Gorgeous foliage and flowers are blushed with violet. Fruits are first purple, fading to lilac then pale coral then orange before finally ripening to rich red. Flavor is hot and similar to cayenne. Perfect for pickling. Ripe red peppers are fairly fleshy and sweet and fantastic on the grill. One of the most ornamental of peppers, and among the few ornamentals that are actually worth eating. Suitable for containers. Very productive, even in cool damp conditions.
Start peppers indoors around 8-10 weeks before the last spring frost. Seeds require light and consistent warmth to germinate successfully. Prick out seedlings to grow on in individual containers or cells. Fertilize weekly with dilute fish emulsion. Transplant outdoors into warm soil in full sun after the last spring frost.
Highly recommended for gardening artists and amateur historians.
Packet contains at least 20 seeds.
