Marmande Tomato
Marmande Tomato
MARMANDE TOMATO SEEDS
Solanum lycopersicum
ORGANIC
This is, in my mind at least, THE French tomato. Elegant six-ounce semi-oblate fruits are really red and subtly ribbed. Flavor is rich and perfectly balanced. Texture is silky and firm. So lovely. And very French.
Even more remarkable is that these beautiful tomatoes are borne very early in the season on sturdy semi-determinate bushes. Expect the first ripe fruits as soon as 60 days after transplanting, even in cool maritime climates. Production continues through autumn.
Start tomatoes indoors 6-8 weeks before the date of the last spring frost. Harden off seedlings thoroughly before transplanting into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. These plants will be content with the support of a cheap tomato cage and do not need to be trellised unless you are growing several plants in a long row, which is worth considering as Marmande is an excellent candidate for market growers.
Highly recommended for small gardens and growers contending with cool misty nights.
Packet contains at least 20 seeds.
