RALPH THOMPSON PEPPER
Capsicum annuum
An incredible selection, listed as an Italian heirloom by Seed Savers Exchange. Beautiful squat ribbed peppers produced in abundance on compact plants. Fantastic sweet flavor with heat! Thick crisp flesh. Delicious both raw and roasted. Possibly the most versatile cooking pepper we've grown. Great for stuffing. Freeze chopped seeded fruits and toss into winter soups and stews. We think the flesh too substantial for drying, but the flavor rivals the best Hungarian seasoning peppers.
Sturdy 18" plants produce early and reliably, even in cool wet conditions. First ripe fruits in about 80 days. Continues fruiting into late autumn. Ideal for market gardeners and homesteaders.
Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last spring frost. Harden off and transplant into warm fertile soil in full sun once all danger of frost has passed. Mulch generously to help maintain soil moisture. Water frequently and fertilize weekly until well-rooted.
Packet contains at least 20 seeds.
