EGYPTIAN GREEN COTTON SEEDS

Gossypium sp.

Gorgeous flowers open pink and fade to creamy yellow and transform into beautiful emerald-to-khaki bolls that ultimately produce a very pretty pale green cotton fiber. Relatively early. Plants grow to 3'-4' and may be grown successfully in deep containers in full sun. A great selection for textile artists and curious children. Suitable for spinning.

Cotton requires a long and warm season to mature. Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before your last spring frost. Tuck seeds 1/4" to 1/2" below the surface of moist soil and mist generously with warm water. Cover with plastic to maintain moisture and temperature. Kept warm (80F) and moist in bright light, seeds will germinate in a week or so. Prick out seedlings to grow on in deep 3" pots. Keep warm in bright light. Water frequently. Transplant to larger pots if necessary until transplanting outdoors into warm soil in full sun after all danger of frost has passed.

Cotton loves heat and moisture, but will tolerate dry spells once established. Requires about 120 days for big fluffy bolls. If frost threatens before pods have burst open, uproot entire plants to dry indoors. Suitable for gardeners in the Midwest and Northeast.

Grown by Farmacie Isolde.

Packet contains at least 10 seeds.
