NICOTIANA GLUTINOSA SEEDS
Nicotiana glutinosa
This charming ornamental annual tobacco from western South America has pretty peculiar flowers that erupt all along a tall sticky stem over a long season. Reminds of a miniature gladiolus! Very unique and a fun companion for other flowering annuals, or even tucked into the pepper garden! Suitable for containers. Begins blooming for us when just about 1', but eventually tops out around 3'.
Start these seeds indoors around 4-6 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Press seeds into moist soil, mist carefully, and cover with plastic. Kept warm and moist in bright light seeds will begin to germinate in a week or two. Prick out seedlings to grow on in individual 2" cells or 3" pots at warm room temperature in bright light. Harden off carefully before transplanting into warm garden soil in part sun once all danger of frost has passed.
Best performance in well-drained semi-shaded soils that receive regular water. Tolerates hot sun and drought, but the show is far less impressive.
Grown by Farmacie Isolde.
Packet contains at least 100 seeds.
