GREEN WINTER RADISH
Raphanus sativus
More on the way! Check back in early February 2024!
An impressively large and seriously sweet Chinese radish with beautiful crisp green flesh. Fantastic flavor and texture. Keeps for weeks in the refrigerator. Excellent pickled. Holds up to cooking. We love them sliced thick and eaten out of hand. A great alternative to carrot sticks in a bag lunch.
These radishes must be sown in late summer and harvested in autumn. They will bolt if sown in spring. In Iowa they were a disappointment, but in the Hudson Valley and other regions where winters are slow to take hold they produce incredibly fat and juicy roots when sown in late August or September and harvested in October and November.
Highly recommended for parents whose kids live on dips and vegetable “chips”.
Packet contains at least 300 seeds.
