OSAKA PURPLE MUSTARD SEEDS

Brassica juncea

Big undulating masses of broad violet leaves add fantastic color and texture to the edible landscape. Best show in autumn. Worth growing even if you never intend to eat it. Not quite so flouncy and dramatic as Giant Red, but the more restrained nature of these plants make them better companions in the vegetable garden. The thick midribs are also tastier and juicier!

Start in flats in late winter and early autumn. Transplant into rich soil. Tolerates frost and is sweeter and prettier for it. Can also be sown directly into the garden in early autumn. The young leaves are great in salad!
