PETIT POIS SEEDS

Pisum sativum

True French Petit Pois are hard to find. These tiny shelling peas possess a refined texture and flavor and are considerably smaller than the common garden pea. Short sturdy plants grow to just over 1' and do not require support. Sweet little peas freeze perfectly.

Sow seeds directly into the garden in early spring, as soon as the soil has warmed and can be easily worked, and again in late summer for an autumn harvest. Best germination in warm soil, though they prefer to grow in cool weather. Shell as soon as pods plump, in approximately 60 days after sowing. Like every garden pea, they will become starchy if you wait too long to harvest.
