SUGAR SNAP PEA
Pisum sativum
ORGANIC
This superior garden pea should require no introduction. The sweetest of peas, we eat Sugar Snaps by the handful in the garden. Pods are tender and delicious even when peas are at their most plump. Sugar Snaps are one of the few snap peas that are best when big and pillowy. Leaves, tendrils and stems are juicy and delicious. This marvel of pea breeding became available to gardeners in the late 70’s and nothing better has come along since.
Sow outdoors as soon as soil can be worked. If soil is particularly cold and wet, peas may be just barely sprouted indoors before being transplanted outside. Tall vines require a trellis. Sugar Snap Peas do not like hot weather and will usually call it a day just when its time to plant beans. When beans have gone kaput in late summer, plant another crop of peas to mature in the cool of autumn.
Packet contains at least 100 seeds.
