Glaskins Perpetual Rhubarb
Glaskins Perpetual Rhubarb
GLASKINS PERPETUAL RHUBARB SEEDS
Rheum x cultorum
This classic rhubarb is remarkable for its vigor and seemingly perpetual production of tender bright red petioles. Tender stringless stalks can be harvested all year long once plants are established. Ideal for permaculture.
Rhubarb is very hardy and long-lived and easy to grow from seed. Plants may be harvested lightly in the second year and willy nilly in the third.
Start indoors several weeks before the last spring frost. Seeds germinate easily at 70°F. Prick out seedlings to grow on in deep 6" containers until transplanting outdoors into deeply trenched and well-amended soil. Keep crowns at soil surface. First and second year plants will appreciate side dressings of compost. After the third year rhubarb requires little if any attention.
Deerproof.
Packet contains at least 30 seeds.
